  • Research Associate, Department of Internal Medicine, National Taiwan University, Taiwan

Meng-Lun Hsieh obtained a master’s degree at the graduate institute of medical genomics and proteomics in National Taiwan University. He is full of curiosity about translational medicine, so joined Dr. Lee-Ming Chuang and Dr. Yi-Cheng Chang’ lab in NTU. They focus on (1) human and mouse genetic studies for type 2 diabetes, obesity, and related metabolic traits (2) translational research of type 2 diabetes and obesity.

Currently, they identify possible targets to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity including enzymes involved in aldehydes and prostaglandins metabolism as well as redox control. They are trying to develop small-molecules for treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. They hope these efforts can be translated to clinical therapy for patients with type 2 diabetes and obesity.
