Kuei-Jung Ni is Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Trans-Pacific Partnership and Transnational Trade Laws at School of Law, National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. He specializes in international economic law, environment law and bio-technology and health law, especially covering the cross-cutting issues of trade, environment and public health. His present study aims to explore transnational regulations on food safety and risk analysis, including normative works of competent international regimes, such as WTO, RTA, Codex and the Biodiversity Convention etc., and national implementations as well. On alcoholic control, he is interested in examining what policy options are available and optimal in dealing with ALDH2 problems in Taiwan, on which the study may contribute to realization of a better regulatory regime. He has written dozens of articles appearing in trade, environment and health law journals. Recent publications include “Food Safety and International Trade” (Angle, 2016); “Compulsory Licensing for Clean Technologies” (World Trade Review, Vol. 14(4), pp. 701-719, 2015); “Science and Technology in International Economic Law,” co-edited with Bryan Mercurio (Routledge, 2014). Professor Ni received his PhD in law from the University of Edinburgh, an LL.M from the University of California at Berkeley and an LL.B from the National Taiwan University.
